Good morning all. (Wow, now I might lose my footing, I feel like I'm speaking to a crowd)
My lecturer, who is everything but a professor (or a professional *hush*), has no time at the moment to grade my project. However, I've told him about the traffic statistics and I think he doesn't quite believe me. My favourite lecturer is a whole different story, she has seen the project and taken a look at the forum (thanks to you crazy bunch she will resort to call me evil genius) and was impressed.
Once I get the grade for this I'll let you know. Promise. I just hope he manages before the end of April, otherwise I won't be able to register for my bachelor thesis.
On a side note: Rachel, which part of New Zealand are you from?
So I finished the riddle yesterday and I wanted to see what other people thought so I read through all the other comments. By the way Irish Vamp your hints helped. I saw that most of the other people weren't from the U.S. and it's nice to see just how world wide Twilight is. I first read Twilight back in 2005 and nobody knew what it was. It took me months to get just one of my friends to read it because of the whole "vampire" thing. And now everyday I see at least one person wearing Twilight clothing. It's unbelievable how fast Twilight fever took over.
You should see my inbox at the moment. I'm especially delighted by the mails that I receive because people are giving a fake address to register here and the system can't notify them that they got approved.
Woohoo! Irish Vamp got a promotion! I've been off for a day or so. I had a cake to make for a birthday. (I make cakes for people). Things have been especially crazy at my house the past couple of days. What's been going on the boards anyways?
I haven't been doing cakes long. Maybe 6 months. I can make some 3D cakes. I have a giant 3D cupcake I make sometimes actually. I took cake decorating classes at a craft store. It's pretty fun.
Talking about being completely bonkers: My Ma just said something completely Twilight unrelated, but my weirdly wired mind went in that direction, of course, and I had to take off to note down the idea for a riddle question ... seriously defunct.
It's Ma because I consider myself a little too old to say "Mama" anymore (although I do sometimes) ... Let's see: I'm a tea-loving Kiwi at heart, there may be some Irish roots, who knows? Ah yes, my parents ... awesome people but totally untalented when it comes to languages. I'm the odd one out in my family, they're all numbers-people.
lol I say 'mam' when I'm talking to her [such as Irish bogger thing to say] but 'mum' when referring to her Ha, I think everyone at this stage has some Irish roots XD Mmm...tea... gotta love tea
Ya know, it's really sad just how happy that makes me... haha =D
I think it's even more sad that I can't think straightforward anymore and just keep composing and speaking in riddles ... although I'm told that I have always done so.
"I don't suffer from insanity. In fact, I enjoy every minute of it."
Oh and I actually did write a "History of Twilight Riddle. Or: Twilight Fans - The Underestimated Force" which will go online tomorrow along with the HoF ...
Woah! I'm guessing it was a written for your project? [as opposed to writing such a thing for the fun of it =P] Class! Can't wait to read it! [and see the HOF..I'm curious as to just how many people finished..] [your riddle was quite popular.. I saw links to it on some pretty random sites and blogs lol]
I guess I had my 15 minutes of fame with this. I write a lot for the fun of it, my convoluted mind sometimes needs an outlet. I will probably re-write the history for my lecturer in a more "academically approved" register. I'll also put some of the feedback I got in there ... seeing that there were people doing this on their iPhones and such or in a psychology class.
hey, Julika, how did u come up with those riddles? the riddle about the tool that is used to see time before dark.....it wuz a bit too easy! see, there is a website named t********rs. org(*not wanting to give the answer away...*) and i am kinda a part of it....haha...it's not fair to others!
haha well, yay for me!
how come usually over your name there is this thing saying "The very last resort" and over irish_vamp's "Helpful Sprites in Charge"? i don't get it..... :(
Well, I went off to do something and forgot that I was still on here. lol. I actually posted a link to this riddle on a deal site that I frequent. There is a twilight thread so I let them know about this. Some of them decided to take the quiz and pass it along to their daughters who love twilight. I also shared the link with facebook friends (although I'm not sure anyone did this riddle, I don't think a lot of them are twilight fans). Anyways, I can't wait for the second riddle to come out. I really enjoyed doing this. I am proud of myself for doing it all by myself too, with of course some helpful hints from this forum!
1)how can u get a special job, Julika? 2)and what is The very last resort and Helpful Sprites in Charge mean? 3)what are those special jobs? 4)do u and irish_vamp know each other? as in, close up and personal, i-would-trust-my-life-on-the-other type of know? 5)when did u start this website? it's soooooo pretty!
Somehow I feel a little "Spanish Inquisition" ;o) The special jobs are no longer up for offer, I just needed some staff to keep the riddlers in line during the first days. The titles are just my idea of sounding creative. I don't know 99.9% of the members on a face to face basis, that's all I'm going to say about that. This website is not even a week old, but the design is not mine those credits go to Vent Swap.
1)when did u finish the riddles? 2)r u really Irish? 3)d u have a twilight lifestyle(obsession is such a harsh word... :) )? welll......that's it! i tend to ask Q the first couple of days of anything......don't worry i won't get on your nerves! unless u want me to :)
1)I finished the first day, Tuesday [though, technically I didn't send my answers off until half past midnight] 2) Why, yessum, I am =] 3)Um.. I'm not wholly sure what you mean by that.. I am totally obsessed by the books, to be sure, but I'm not a screaming fangirl lol
you know, i was just reading julika's story......and well ofcourse she has fans from all over the world...IM FROM SRI LANKA!!!!!!!! wel...i live here anyways hahah this is soooooo great...where else is everyone from?
still working away on this - computers not working at home (have no idea whats wrong with it) and i usually only get to work on this in work during lunch - so Im guessing I shud finish by the end of the month LOL
Cant wait for Riddle #2 Julika
Congrats Irish Vamp on the promotion (there's no private message thingy here so Im hoping you see this)
I leave you alone for a day and things go down the drain ... not really. We had our private little snow catastrophe here today. Trains+snow equals no fun.
Crazy busy ... well it's nice to get more that 4 hours of sleep at night. And I'm working on batch two. Someone was kind enough to give me the audio books as a present ==> listening and writing simultaneously while being stuck in a train.
I'd think that the venom would work like it would with Jake's species to which it is poisonous. But that's my interpretation ... the pain would probably be so bad that the animal would find a way to kill itself.
